The Government outlined the details of the Spending Review towards the end of November. This noted that the Department of Health’s non-NHS budget has been cut by 25%, including continued savings in public health. Defra’s budget has been reduced by 15% - half as much as was previously expected. Defra’s administration budget will be reduced by 26% by 2019-20, saving £123 million. The Alliance will be drafting a response to a Health Select Committee inquiry on the impact of the Spending Review on healthcare.
The Alliance’s website has been updated to include useful information for educational settings on milk, covering its health benefits and classroom based activities.
