Oral health
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) held a consultation on a Quality Standards on oral health promotion in the community, which highlighted the need to reduce tooth decay and extraction amongst children as a key measure of the quality standard’s success. The SNMA made a submission suggesting that NICE include dietary advice in its drive to improve children’s the oral health – focusing in particular on the role of school milk as a substitute for sugary drinks and milk’s general positive impact on dental health.
